| Biography: | Introduced to the wonder of photography in his Father's home darkroom at the age of four. Erik was given his first 'proper' camera at the age of seven. Studied Photography at the London College of Printing. Worked at Conde Nast Studios in Hanover Square, London as studio assistant to Bailey, Bowman, Chatelin, Donovan, Newton, Parkinson, etc, then assisted various photographers including Alan Randall, Lester Bookbinder & Tony McGee. Worked freelance for ten years shooting for the weekly "Shopfront" section of the Saturday Telegraph Magazine and then for over twelve years as a regular contributor to Elle magazine internationally. Erik has shot editorial and advertising of one sort or another for all the major (and many minor) publishing houses. Clients have included Avon, Body Shop, Boots, Brides, CBS, Company, Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Diagio, DeBeers, Elle Decoration, EMI, Empire, Ernest Jones, ES, Esquire, Eve, Glamour, GQ, Good Housekeeping, Grattan, The Guardian, Habitat, Harper's Bazaar, Harrods, Hill & Knowlton, House Beautiful, Hunting Group, Instyle, Island, Marie Claire, Men's Health, Marks & Spenser, New Health & Beauty, New Woman, The Observer, Orange, Shape, She, Shine, Sugar, Sunday Times Magazine, Sunday Times Travel, Tatler, Tesco, The Times, Top Santé, Viva, Vogue, Wallpaper, Wedding Day, You, Zest. In 2005 Erik moved his studio from London to the South Coast and has broadened his photographic subject areas to include industrial and commercial products and - complementing a love of sailing and the outdoors - is fast becoming a recognised marine photographer. Not afraid of new challenges, Erik continues to develop his broad range of skills and is ready to meet the requirements of new clients. |
