Bio & Interests
| Biography: | I initially worked as an assistant photographer for Lothian & Borders police, followed by a spell as a photographer for the Forestry Commission. I then moved away from photography into graphic design for many years. As digital imaging became more prevalent, I concentrated on retouching, and worked for several years as a freelance retoucher for top ad agencies in London. I returned to Scotland in 2001, and bought a film and photographic studio just outside Edinburgh. I now run this studio as a rental operation, and provide high-end retouching, image creation and CGI services to Edinburgh and London based design agencies. In the last three years things have come full circle and I am taking pictures professionally again, mainly in the studio doing advertising and product photography, but also on loaction. I use Canon cameras and lenses coupled with a fully specced mac studio. My main reason for wanting to join Pro-Imaging is to learn more about the business side of photography. I'd like to think I can offer a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding digital imaging and retouching. Please note the images on my website are not very current, I'd be pleased to provide more recent examples of my work if this will help my application. |
