Bio & Interests
| Biography: | I'm a former geography teacher that went self-unemployed at the start of 2001. At first I made a living as an education author for a range of new internet initiatives including for the Guardian's website. Gradually publishers started showing more interest in my photos and the writing faded away. The fading away included a showdown with the Guardian over them wanting to publish some of my work on CD with another publisher without any payment to me. I was offered a few grand to give them copyright but refused and walked away. I started submitting stock images to Alamy in 2003 by scanning the thousands of slides I had since the mid 1980s when I first got involved in a limited way with stock and magazine sales. I only do stock. I do a few days a month supply teaching, some exam marking and apart from that depend on stock. I have always been 100% RM, As well as Alamy I have images with agefotostock, Getty, Photoshot, Photofusion, PhotoEdit, Collections. I have been active on Alamy related forums and now fed up mixing and arguing with RF and micro sellers. I was recently taken to task by a micro merchant for placing my pics as RM on Getty as he thought I was 'buggering up' his sales. That was the final straw. I have run an Alamy RM forum but that has become very quiet. One of your members from that forum pointed me in your direction. |
