PI weekly digest to 30th January 2011
A hugely busy week with nearly 300 emails passing around the membership, requesting and providing help.

Surprisingly, there were few technical problems arising this week. One turned out to be a known bug in C1Pro, while another was a highly complicated problem with Lightroom and a plug-in web-gallery builder. Epson printers were causing their usual problems, while the technical superiority of Canon's video in their 5D2 and 7D were discussed.

The rest of the weeks discussion was devoted to business problems. A member's new web site generated lots of comments, and began a discussion on the wisdom of putting your prices on your site. More discussion followed the revelation that one member was quite happy to hand over his RAW files to the client, while another member wanted advice on charging a cancellation fee.

Advice was given to a member who had discovered illegal use of his images, who needed to know how he could prove ownership of the images and how best to get paid by the infringer. Suggestions for the best projectors to connect to a Mac were also sought.

Lastly, it's become a tradition at PI than once the working week is over, we're allowed to chat about things that are totally off topic. It's a bit like going out for a drink after work - and seeing who you meet when you get there. This week's OT discussion was about Climate Change, or the lack of it, about which scientist was saying what, and whether any of it even mattered as nature will always win……. Hugely entertaining for some, while those not interested could just tune off and enjoy their weekend as normal.
