This week, business discussion kicked off with a considered argument about using your local camera dealer. At a time when so many items can be bought cheaply online, is there still any value in 'shopping locally'? Another interesting topic was that with so many large corporations declaring their green credentials, exactly how you create an environmental policy for a photography business? When you consider a modern digital business, the results are actually very positive.
Further business discussion involved the dilemma of a wedding photographer. Should he pride himself on only ever showing images of his most recent work online, or should the recent bad run of not-so-photogenic brides force him to ditch that rule in favour of the beautiful ones?
Equipment discussions started with the new Nikon 24mm shift and tilt lens - sure to be a big hit with architectural shooters and technical discussions involved a solution to Mac OSX Leopard turning Adobe Lightroom into a very slow application indeed....
Finally, with UK tax returns on everyone's mind, a surprisingly long running thread began about the different accounting software solutions that will run on Mac OSX. Although we're a creative lot, we can count beans with the best of them when the time comes... Contributed by Neill Watson
