The pro-imaging.org mailing listAs soon as your application to join our community is accepted you'll start receiving postings from the pro-imaging.org mailing list. This is our primary method of communication for day-to-day issues. Mailing list postings are relayed to all members within seconds and you can expect immediate responses to problems that you might have with any matter related to professional imaging. Please note that there are a lot of information exchanges in the course of a day, so make a special mail box to automatically take just your PI mail. Details on the member site once you join if you need assistance. You should note that the mailing list is COMPULSORY for all members and it is NOT AVAILABLE AS A DIGEST. This is to encourage all members to participate in our community - not just take information from others. The pro-imaging.org Discussion ForumNon-urgent issues, issues that would be of interest to a minority of members, or issues that require long and involved debate can be discussed in the Discussion Forum at the pro-imaging.org web site. The Discussion Forum covers hardware, software and camera issues and includes a "chat" section where members can discuss any issues no matter how off-topic. It's also a place where you can buy and sell things to other members. News & InformationThe site has a News section that is also accessible as an RSS feed. All members are able to submit News items that will be visible to other users of the web site. This allows us to keep abreast of the latest developments in our profession. You will never be more than one click away from the latest software updates, news and gossip. CommunityMany people in our industry work as freelancers and have little contact with fellow professionals. The mailing list and the web site provide a 24/7 resource where you'll find a friendly ear and helpful advice on pretty much any issue. You can even use instant messaging for real-time communication with other members who are logged in to the web site! Knowledge BaseThe mailing list archives, member information and member Forums are all indexed and searchable but not available for viewing by non members. This provides a unique resource to members who can rest assured that somebody else has probably faced and solved the problems that they are currently troubled by. Specialist suppliers, solutions to hardware & software problems may only be one click away. |
