How to use The Rights Off List
Click this - The Rights Off List - to go straight to it, but if you have never read the following notes before about using The Rights Off List take a minute or two to have a look at what you can do when you get there. The Rights Off List is a list of all those competitions that have failed the Bill of Rights tests. Pro-Imaging is unable to recommend these photography contests, click on any competition in the list to see the details of that specific contest. This list will over time become lengthy and to help you use the list effectively please note the following features that are available to you. The competitions are listed by default in descending order of their closing date for entries so the oldest closing date contests are towards the end of the list, ongoing contests, that is those with no end date becuase they run continuously, appear at the beginning. The closing date for each contest is shown in the contest title in the format yyyy mm dd. Contests which recur are listed as Weekly, Monthly, or Ongoing. If a contest is annual there will be separate entries in the list for each year. Searching & sequencing the Lists
Filter; Use this to find a particular competition when you know its title, or part of its title. For example you could enter 'landscape', press enter and all contests with that phrase in the title will be listed. Order; This is a drop down menu that lets you choose a sequence for the list. By default this is set at 'Title Desc', that is the contests are listed in descending order of their title which places contests with the oldest closing date at the end of the list. The drop down menu provides four other sequences that you are free to use, these are - - Title Asc: this reverses the default sequence and the oldest closing date contests will appear at the top of the list.
- Ordering: this lists the contest in the order they were added to the list, so those added recently will appear at the top. If you hadn't looked at the lists for a while this order would let you see what's new at the top of the list.
- Hits asc: This lists the contests such that those with the highest hit rate appear at the top of the list.
- Hits desc: This list the contests such that those with the lowest hit rate appear at the top of the list. Very low hit rate contests may be low because they have just been added to the list.
Display; This lets you control how many competitions are listed per page. By default this is set at 30, but the drop down menu also offers you 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 to better suit your screen size. Search; The 'Search Pro-Imaging' box can be used to search our competition lists for organisations participating in these contests as promoters, sponsors, subsidiaries, affiliates, judges, and media partners. It can also be used to search for photographers and organisations who participate as judges in our listed competitions. Note the search box is limited to 20 characters, sorry! You can enter a phrase, words, or parts of a words. Note that the Search function will search our entire website, not just the competition campaign. For example if you wanted to find all the contests that an organisation is participating in, type the organisations name in the search box and press enter. This takes you to the search screen which offers further options, best results will often be given by selecting the All words option but feel free to experiment. The search results will indicate whether the contests found are on the the Rights Off or Rights On Lists. Likewise if you know a photographer who serves as a judge you can use the search facilty to discover which contests they participate in. When looking at the detail of a particular competition it will detail the organisations and photographers involved, and you could use the search facility to discover what other contests these photographers and organisations are involved in.
