Bill of Rights Condition 1

All Documents that Must be Signed to Participate in or Win a Contest are on Display

The Bill of Rights requires all documents that entrants may have to sign to participate in or win a contest to be displayed on the competition website.

Many contests have T&C's which demand that entrants must sign documents if they are selected as a winner of one of the prizes. In such contests if you do not sign the document you will be disqualified and another entrant will be selected to take your place.

Typically the document you will be required to sign is not displayed on the the competition website and although we cannot know for certain what these documents will demand of you we are concerned that in some cases such documents will lay claim to some or all of your rights.

Pro-Imaging view this kind of behaviour by the contest organisers who employ it as placing pressure on entrants to sign documents on pain of losing their prize if they don't.

Such documents are in reality an extension of the terms and conditions of the contest and therefore should be on public display. You should ask yourself why the organiser chooses not to do so.

You should not enter contests that don't display all the documents you may be asked to sign in order to remain in or win the contest. If you are very keen to enter such a contest we would advise you to write to the contest organiser first and ask them to send to you a sample of all the documents you may be asked to sign.
