| Condition 4 Organisations |
Bill of Rights Condition 4All organisations granted free usage of images must be namedPro-Imaging are of the opinion that entrants to a photograph competition have the right to know which organisations will be granted free usage of their images. Usually this will be the organiser and sponsors, but often competition rules simply say that 'XYZ Company', it's sponsors, subsidiaries, affiliates, and media partners are granted various rights, but the rules do not go on to specify who all the subsidiaries, affiliates, etc, are. Failing to do this is unacceptable. For example contestants may well have concerns about particular organisations and would not wish these organisations to have any use of their images. On the other hand in some contests there can be a huge number of sponsors and other organisations that claim free usage; contestants may have concerns about this situation and that could be another factor they will consider in deciding whether to enter or not. Competition rules which fail this condition cannot be recommended.
