Condition 4 Judges

Bill of Rights Condition 4

All Judges are to be Named and Brief Biographical Details Given

The experience and background of the judges selected for a photograph competition is extremely important. Entrants will want to know that their work is going to be fairly judged by someone with the relevant experience, and they are unable to be sure of this in contests which do not give details of the judges.

Thus The Bill of Rights condition 4 requires that all the judges for a contest be named and brief biographical details given.

In some contests, to safeguard against any attempt to influence this years judges, the judge's details for this year's contest are not given, the judge's details for last year's contest are given instead. This is a practice to be applauded. In the case of the first year of an annual contest the judges can be named after the winners are announced.

Competitions that do not name and give details of the judges for either this or last year cannot be recommended by Pro-Imaging.
