So, explain that to me again. Exactly why should I spend 3, 5 or 10 times more by commissioning you for bespoke photography, rather than buying in a royalty free image from a web based agency? Give me 10 good reasons. If a CEO or head of Press and Publicity asked you that, what would you reply? Members responded with a wide variety of responses, most of which will end up on a page on our site here. But one member pointed out that they made an income from selling rights managed stock imagery, and this should not be left out of the replies. More blatant free image library building was uncovered in the form of unfair terms and conditions in new competitions, but a success was also announced with the re-writing of rules for one competition being run by the UK Crown estate. DACS - is it worth the effort? Yes a thousand pounds (sterling) times over! One member who was suspicious of all the form filling was quickly told where the money was going - his bank account! August is a slow month for many businesses, not just photography, yet a gallery owner in Wales was wondering if it was just his photographs, or was everything selling slower now we have a 'credit crunch'. Other members assured him it was mostly just the effect of the summer holidays. A quiet week on the technical front, with one member asking for advice on repairs to Canon flash guns, another looking for the perfect off-camera flash bracket, and another wanting to compare members experiences with rival cable broadband providers.
