The PGB Photo Award 2008 ends 4 January 2009 The Rules of this Contest
"COPYRIGHT Entrants understand that any image submitted to the contest may be used by The Photo Award, and its partners, for promotional purposes of the event only. Such as exhibitions, book, print and digital media directly related to The Photo Award contest. Use may include publication in The Photo Award partner publication where the text is about the award. Copyright in all images submitted to the competition will remain with the photographer. Any photograph used by The Photo Award or its partners shall carry the photographers credit line. You hereby grant The Photo Award a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence in each entry throughout the world for 5 years from the date of announcement of the winners in all media connected with The Photo Award contest. If The Photo Award wish to use any image after the expiry of the 5 year license The Photo Award will ask for the photographer’s permission and the image will only be used if the photographer gives their permission for such use. The award winning pictures will be made available to the press that writes about the contest and its awarding photographers. The pictures will be provided free of charge to the press for a limited time. The press are not allowed to print any pictures without permission from The Photo Award. The Photo Award reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the entry is submitted. You warrant and represent, in respect of each entry submitted by you, as follows: Each submitted image, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the entrant. By entering the competition the entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted image is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the image does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the image. CLARIFICATION OF COPYRIGHT Copyright in all images submitted to the competition will remain with the photographer. The Photo Award will use the award winning pictures in the Photo Award Book, The Photo Award Exhibition on The Photo Award website and in promotion material connected to The Photo Award. Some of the partners will use the pictures in their publications. The press will be given the award winning pictures to publish in articles connected with the award." Results of Testing the RulesListed below are the results of the tests we carried out on this competition's rules. The tests are all based on the standards set out in The Bill of Rights . By adopting these standards competition organisers can create competition rules that meet the needs of organisers and are fair and respectful to the rights of entrants. ConclusionsThis contest meets every requirement of the The Bill of Rights. This contest is recommended. ### Organisations - The PGB Photographers Award, Berns Salonger, Lydmar Hotel, Kamera & Bild, Ord & Bild, Fotoguiden, RMP Media, MPEG Judges - The judges will be announced prior to the deadline for the Photo Award competition. The jury is selected by The Photo Award. The competition website currently states the following about the jury process. "There is a pre-jury and a final jury. The pre jury contains three members with a high photoknowledge. The pre-jury will narrow down the pictures to a suitable number. The final jury will choose the winning pictures. The final jury has the right to look at pictures that the pre-jury rejected. The final jury consists of five members with widely divergent backgrounds. We seek members from picture editors, photographers and representatives of press agencies from different parts of the world. They will meet in Stockholm, Sweden in the middle of January for the final meeting and pick out the award winning pictures."
