Pro Imaging has taken on the long term task of addressing the growing culture of commercial and governmental organisations running photographic competitions of every conceivable type for their own self interest. This is to the cost of the public and photographers, both amateur and professional, who enter their photographs.  It also contributes to a mistaken perception that photography is of little value.

The campaign which Pro Imaging created, is run by members of the admin. team as a completely voluntary effort!   This means that we can do only so much at any one time and there is so much to do that we simply cannot tackle. 

Our aim is to fund the operation of an independent full time campaigning body either directly through our organisation or in conjunction with other organisations, and this is where you can help us with a donation.

In addition to the day to day work of addressing the bad competitions, we see a need to engage in additional ways of promoting fair photo competitions. Also lobbying for changes in copyright law, lobbying to implement education about rights in schools syllabuses, pursuing various means of reaching the public and getting their support for the campaign, and publicising the bad competitions. This has to be looked on as a long term campaign.

Pro Imaging is totally self funded by our membership and we refuse to take paid advertising.  This enables us to confront head-on any company or organisation engaged in practices we consider to be detrimental to photography, wherever in the world they are based.
