This image appeal has been notified to Pro-Imaging by our contributors because it  fails to comply with  the Bill of Rights. Pro-Imaging have verified that the rules do not fully comply with the Bill of Rights and in doing so we treated this image appeal as a photo competition with no prizes on offer.

The Rules of this Contest

Listed below are extracts from the rules of this 'ompetition'. These extracts detail the rights being claimed from entrants.

"If you submit an image, you do so in accordance with The Adventure Travel Show Terms and Conditions.

We ask that you stick to what is legal, tasteful and civil. We ask that you do not post any content that:

  • Is racist, homophobic, sexist, or demeaning to either sex, abusive, sexually explicit, pornographic, of a violent or disturbing nature or that preaches, encourages or incites religious or ethnic hatred;
  • Is defamatory towards others;
  • Infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights;
  • Promotes commercial products
  • Is an unsuitable image of a child
  • Is an unsuitable image of any person in a state of undress.

We reserve the right not to publish, or to remove or edit, any material that we consider to be unsuitable for publication for any reason.

You must be over 18 to enter.

Pro-Imaging Comment - We hardly know what to say about these terms and conditions!

They give absolutely no indication of what the images will be used for, how long, whether they will be credited, or licensed to other organisations. They are completely unclear and so fail the Bill of Rights. We cannot advise anyone to submit images to The Independent; Adventure Travel Show 2009, it's not recommended.
