Another varied week of discussions kicked off with questions about portable power supplies (generators) and went on to discuss how to hold down large light units and reflectors outside. This turned up some interesting and novel practical solutions. There were more thoughts about Nikon following bad experiences from several members as recounted last week. Photoshop type tool questions from a windows user resulted in some extremely useful quick ways of accessing particular characters. Time Machine..member has a G5 that has a few problems as he is running out of disk space. Several solutions are offered some less challenging than others! A portrait sitting charges question from a member changing direction brought a number of excellent posts on the subject of marketing and some very valuable suggestions on strategy. Static electricity on Perspex was causing a member great difficulties due to the large amount of static and the resultant dust problems. "I want to get a scratch disk for my MacBook Pro, something small I can plug in to help Photoshop along" Several members had advise to offer. Ever tried to buy an off the shelf frame that allowed you to use a matt that gives the right balance when shooting full frame 35mm or equivalent? The obvious is perhaps rather obvious! Stolen e-mail addresses and spamming was affecting some members. Seems there is little that can be done but grin and bear it. On demand book publishing. A member has an inquiry for forty books....we will see how he gets on. Contributed by Richard Kenward - Artisan Digital Services |
