Weekly discussion to 29th June 2009 |

Another varied bag of subjects discussed last week here on Pro Imaging.
The end of an era is planned soon with the announcement that Kodachrome is to be retired brought back stories from some of the older members, who were brought up on this remarkable (for its time) transparency film
A UK member has a run-in with the National Trust (a charity who appear to have made a profit recently running into many millions of UK pounds) who want to use his images for commercial purposes, but refuse to pay him a fee for their usage. Funny thing is the printer, the designer etc., and the postage will all be paid!
NEC 2690 monitor anyone? Several members have these and were able to assist a new user in getting the best out of his.
Show All menus in Adobe CS4 and LightRoom upgrades were discussed.
A member spotted some pirate friendly software that claims to be able to remove unwanted date marks and what concerns us greatly.....water marking! Members seem to think there is a better way to combat the thieves
A question of paper for a job being printed in India on a matt coated paper was quickly answered by the pre-press experts on Pro Imaging.
Business insurance is a necessary evil in these litigious times but how to choose? Who will pay out when the going gets tough and who is to be avoided....members have their say.
Canon 24-105 lens focus problems .....advise on what to do is swiftly offered.
A request for Image licensing forms from a member produced a template to use.
Then it was on to Blulb's Booksmart not opening on a member's Mac..soon solved, then onto metadata.
Is that with ice sir? A member is shooting a series of drinks picture soon and is considering the options...fake or real. An interesting method is offered for a DIY solution! Finally we discussed the incredible value of PI membership now standing at less than 60 UK pence a week!
If you are a professional photographer and are interested in membership please go to the Join Us tab and read about it.
