As usual we discussed a wide variety of topics this week starting with burning and dodging. It was all so easy in the dark room days so what are the best methods now? Several pet methods were put forward. Mac Mail woes ...a cry for help from a member having a mail loss problem was soon solved. A member's blog attracted a lot of interest and comment. Amazing what increases site traffic! Which stock library produces the best results and why? An important consideration in these more difficult times. A highly experienced and regarded stock shooter tells all. The ideal camera case and pouch seems to be more difficult to find, and as one would expect this discussion was fuelled by personal likes and dislikes. Need to find a hand model fast? Several members offer details. We discussed video productions, what exactly is involved, costings and post production issues. A3 printer which one? Epson are no longer the automatic choice as we now have good alternatives in Canon and HP. Digital capture charges....a hang over from early digital days? How do the clients view them? Tethered shooting. How long after taking the photo will it appear on a laptop screen..that and other interesting questions. It transpires that this is for a chopper shoot with the client approving shots whilst airborne. Some helpful suggestions that may satisfy the client! Lightroom 2 upgrade problems on a Mac from a New Zealand member using a Canon 5D Mk 2. Seems he needed to update to v2.4 ! How about a grant for an arts project, who to approach for a successful result? A UK member wanted to find a source of actors to an upcoming project...several good suggestions quickly received. Finally a really thought provoking post from a very successful and well regarded industrial photographer. This made many members sit up and reconsider their own business development. The above is just a taste of what you can access as a member of Pro Imaging. If you meet the terms of membership we would be delighted to welcome you as a member. Details under join us.
