The week started with a question regarding the key strokes on a Mac for screen capturing which was soon answered. We also discussed: Where to get the best deal on HP inks which produced some amazingly good money saving sources. A Mac OS 9.2 based questions with regard to running certain applications that had ceased development for modern set-ups but were still essential. Where to get gold archival disks lead onto a discussion about upcoming new technologies that make these look totally redundant. 64G CF cards were discussed. Is this like having all ones eggs in one basket? Several members felt that it was and offered their experiences. One member needed assistance with equipment and best workflow for an event photography business venture and several members gave the benefit of their operations. A member in China needed a translation for a web site to explain copyright to visiting clients.. It seems that all around the world copyright issues are causing the industry considerable concern. This is something that PI takes a keen takes a keen interest in. What constitutes a true HD monitor? The discussion involved HD video and how photographers can get a part of the action. It also appears that if we are wanting the very best monitors, then we may have to be thinking in terms of 15 or more UK Pounds going on what the film industry uses! A free Mac utility for cleaning up one's computer was discussed and the consensus was that it was worth trying out. And an open source intervalometer for Canon, Nikon cameras was discussed. Finally we welcomed some more new faces on PI.
