Weekly Review week ending 24th January 2010 |

A reduced number of topics were discussed but some good things accomplished.
The Environment Agency, a UK government funded department announced that it intended to build a picture library using inexperienced photographers without paying them, because they cannot afford to pay the going rate for professional Photography. PI took this up and following negotiations with them got them to drop the idea and to issue a public announcement to this effect. The support of members who write to their Member's of Parliament and posted on the Internet was an important factor in this excellent result. Just another success story for PI.
We discussed charging systems for photographers and how best to approach this important part of doing business in a rapidly moving market place. There were a number of very useful contributions to this thread.
A Mac OSX question about Ethernet connections was solved by one of our Mac experts.
Wildlife Photographer winner stripped of title. Members had some interesting observations to make.
Which Internet service provider should I consider? Several interesting names were put forward.
A member in the wedding photography field had been contacted by a local hotel to take part in a joint promotion. Turns out the stakes were higher than at first thought!
One member had a foot print problem with a whole shoot. Scuffs (lots of them) on a white background needed to be removed without spoiling the texture of the shadows. A quick solution saved many hours of re-touching work. contributed by Richard Kenward - Artisan Digital Services
