Pi Weekly discussions to 28th February 2010
This was an incredibly busy week for PI emails, with over 230 passing between members. There were several big discussions and campaigns. There are links to the first two of these on the right.

Firstly, the upcoming Digital Economy Bill here in the UK needs members to get their representatives in Parliament involved to get it changed. PI was represented by two members at a meeting with the Intellectual Property Office, where photographers concerns with forthcoming legislation was discussed.

Secondly, copyright grabs were announced by several organisations and publishers, including Lord Mandelson's own government department! PI is fighting back….

Thirdly, the new PI website (coming soon!) was discussed, particularly how easy it would be for potential clients to search for members geographically, and by specialism.

On the technical side, one member was helped when his laptop developed a faulty screen, and another was reassured about the security of Macs. Advice on a couple of techniques in Photoshop was freely given, as was advice on Epson drivers. A warning on how the new Aperture 3 could mess up your photos metadata was also given.

Finally, one member's outdoor exhibition, around the streets of south east London was much admired and praised by other members.
