We continued to discuss the Orphan Works situation following the success of the withdrawal of the UK Orphan works clause 43 by the concerted actions of thousands of UK photographers both amateur and professionals of the recently attempted UK government legislation. The difference in the appearance of images in Lightroom and Photoshop came up again and was quickly answered. Whatever time of day or night, if you have a problem, there is sure to be a Pro Imaging member who has the right answer within minutes.
48 sheet poster from a Canon 5D 2 anyone? Members share their experiences.
A question that comes up from time was to do with unintteruptible power supplies (UPS)and this proved to be a useful reminder for some on LP.
Buffalo drives were discussed and the lack of Mac support. Experiences of members suggest that one should look for alternative back-up solutions especially if Mac based. This led to a discussion about the safest long term back-up solutions. A subject always uppermost in many photographer's minds!
Photo books came in for an airing with several contenders being put forward. It is always valuable to hear the experiences of those who have dipped their toes in the water.

Members noted that for those outside the US and Canada Adobe continue year after year to penalize their customers by charging significantly more for their products. This is under the guise of market conditions and cost of doing business. Strange since surely it costs them no more to sell a download to an EU customer than one in Canada or the US ! Many members have not upgraded for several years as they do not like the Adobe policy.
Macbook Pro battery reduced life was the subject of another topic. It seems this is not a rare occurance but some have had some luck with Apple providing a free replacement when visiting their outlets.
Fresnel screen and focus was bothering one member using a Hasselblad 500 cm body with a 40mm Distagon and shooting on a P30 back.
