A busy and varied week, with members facing technical, artistic and legal issues. On the technical side, Google Calendar was recommended by some members, and alternatives suggested by others. A file renaming problem in Bridge was solved, and members reported on their trouble free (so far!) upgrades to Photoshop CS5. One member wanted to make sure his studio lights were all colour balanced to the same output, and wanted to know he best way of doing this. Skin softening techniques (in Photoshop) were discussed, along with the best and easiest way to make montage prints. The Stop 43 campaign has been busy and has come up with a new proposal for a modern copyright law, and asked for comments. Dreadful, one sided, and poorly paid contracts continue to appear, and one member asked for the correct way to turn them down and point out the error of the publishers ways. Wedding Photography is also being seen as a way to add to members income, and advice was sought on pricing and the value of digital files. Lastly, one member is in experimental mood. He is producing amazing photos using high speed video capture, and self written software that extracts a one pixel strip from each frame and then reassembles it……… We fellow members have yet to discover just why he is doing this!
