A busy week of discussions and problems with an eclectic mix of topics. On the technical side, members were having problems with Epson printers, sensor cleaners and sandisc CF cards - all of which were sorted with the advice of other members. Business loomed it's ugly head, with clients going bust while owing large amounts of money (most of which seemed to be going to accountants) and one supplier charging a large and mysterious 're-stocking fee' on a returned item. The Facebook advertising sales team seemed to be out in force, with several members being subjected to their hard sell techniques. Various methods of getting rid of them were mentioned! Advice on the value of Google advertising was sought and provided, and how to price for large numbers of portrait prints for a celebrity friend who had some very good contacts. If you've got any rolls of Kodachrome around, get them exposed and printed - as the last place providing a processing service is about to close down. Although it must be pretty rare to have both a roll of unexposed kodachrome and a film camera to load it into! Travelling members asked for advice on what to do in Orlando, and which exhibitions to see in London. Lastly, there was good news on the campaigning front with 'G-Technology by Hitachi' joining our Bill of Rights supporter for their upcoming exhibition. All the details are available from the Bill of Rights menu on the right. Compiled by Simon Grosset - www.q-photography.co.uk |
