Have You Thanked the

Bill of Rights Supporters?

If you were asked to name the most important asset that the Bill of Rights Campaign has what would you say? Perhaps you might say it's the Bill of Rights itself, or the Rights Off Reports listing the competitions to avoid, or perhaps the Rights On List of recommended competitions, or maybe even one of the guides that explains what intellectual property rights are.

In fact the most important asset of the campaign is none of those things - it is the supporters of the Bill of Rights. When we try to persuade organisations to join the association supporting the Bill of Rights we are not just seen as an association of photographers campaigning about some obscure matter that the public have little understanding of.

We are seen as a growing worldwide coalition of partners who have committed to uphold the ethical principles set out in the Bill of Rights, principles that have relevance to all citizens and are enshrined by the spirit of the law in every country in the world.  The list of private, public and non-profit organisations who have committed their name, and their trust, to the campaign is what gives it credibility and growing strength.

Without supporters the campaign would be little more than a protest group. With them we are a worldwide coalition promoting a set of ethical standards that respect artists rights.

How We Thank the Bill of Rights Supporters

Although we promote the supporters via the Supporters List and each of their competitions via the Rights On List much more can be done.

We plan to promote our supporters on a more regular basis through social media such as Facebook and Twitter by re-publishing their news to our followers.  In addition the Bill of Rights Supporters List has now been updated, and for each supporter we have included links to their Twitter and Facebook pages where they have them.

What You Can Do

We cannot know for sure just how many individuals such as you support the Bill of Rights, we have no way of measuring it, but worldwide it is at least in the tens of thousands and probably much more.  This is where YOU can help, go and visit the Bill of Rights Supporters Facebook pages and become a fan. Go and follow them on Twitter, re-tweet their tweets. The links to enable you to do this are on the Supporters List.

This is how you, in your thousands, can applaud the Bill of Rights Supporters for stepping forward and nailing their colours to the mast.

Go on, you know they deserve it, and it takes so little time to do, all the links you need are on our Bill of Rights Supporters List.  Tell your friends and colleagues too.

Some supporters don't have Twitter or Facebook accounts, so visit their website (and we've given links for that too) and send them a nice email.  Have you ever entered any of their competitions? You can support them by doing that and show that being on the Rights On List really does make a difference!

The campaign has got where it has got to today by hard and often thankless work, but the real credit must go to organisations bravely stepping forward and entrusting their name to it. Please go and thank them, they respect your rights and are an immense help in the campaign to protect them.
