PI Weekly Review to 31/1/10 |
|
ALCE Photoshop plug-in enhances local contrast: An interesting Photoshop plug-in that seems make local contrast adjustments possible in Photoshop mush easier, several members looked through the web site but no reports of a purchaser yet. Look forward to learning more.
Dropping off your iPad instead of a portfolio: This weeks Apple Event lead to a long thread on PI as well, I'm sure, as on many other groups too! From the initial idea of using it as a portfolio we discovered members already using iPhones and Ipods to show their work.
File Renaming: A member had an unusual File Renaming problem, most of the usual programmes were unsuitable but a PI member suggested using an Applescript and gave full details. A problem solved quickly and at no cost.
Mobile Me Gallery: A member was struggling to password protect a gallery, a few suggestions were posted however another PI member got on the phone to him and solved the problem.
Surprised by Students Attitude : Whilst spending a day teaching at a UK College, a member discovered that the students knew all about PI's Competitions Campaign. He was pleasantly surprised to discover that the students were far more interested in the business aspects of our industry than some had imagined. This led on to a suggestion that a section of the PI web-site could be devoted to the business aspects of our profession. Many were in favour but others posted a cautionary note about giving away too much of our hard won experiences.
iPhone unlocking: Now that O2 offer to unlock your iPhone we had a discussion about the best contracts Just a taste of what was discussed here last week. contributed by David Williams - David Williams Photography
