After the Holidays and into the beginning of the New Year the Pro-Imaging list is starting to wake up and gather pace. Amongst topics discussed in the past week were the following.
Files that were too big: This is still an ongoing discussion with a PI Member who has been unable to import some files into Lightroom, and getting the message that they are too big to import. He has set the programme up to accept files of this size but no success yet.
Stop Frame Animation Software: One of our members who is considering the purchase of some specialist stop frame animation software asked the list for comments and experiences. An immediate answer came from another member, who is a regular user of the programme and his suggestions helped with his buying decision.
One generally thinks of a UPS as a plug in and forget system, coping with the problems of power failures. However one of our members was both surprised and alarmed when, during a power cut one of his UPS units started emitting billowing smoke! Several members using similar systems wanted more information especially as having this happen after the close of business could have dire consequences. The original poster hasn’t heard back from the manufacturers yet however he made the point that we should all check fire alarms and the placement of the units should a problem develop.
Accounts Software: This was flagged up as being the week’s most boring topic, however that did not stop members wading in with their recommendations on this vital subject!
