A large number of postings were seen on this week’s PI list. A great range of topics including problems relating to importing files where LightRoom has apparently been a difficulty when large files are involved, solutions were offered.
Then another member experienced difficulties with Soft Raid on his Mac Pro and our resident expert Paul Ellis and others stepped in with possible answers.
Other problems experienced were issues with Windows 7 and the there were a multiplicity of posts about using drones in London, and generally discussions related to the costs of such photography and the profits that could or could not be expected.
A faulty Nikon Coolscan film scanner issue was discovered to relate to the Firewire card in use.
Information was posted on “Thunderstrikeproof-of-concept attack, serious but limited” which to be honest went straight over my head but will be of interest to experts!
Various posts appeared about defragging SSD drives on PC and choices of actions.
Solutions were proposed for getting images onto an ipad including Dropbox and it’s dedicated App.
Jeremy from the UK was seeking an office/homework printer and a simple Epson or HP were put forward at really economical prices.
Finally a competition was flagged up with a prize of $120,000.00 for digital imagery where photography did not seem to be recognised as such! Various opinions appeared about this subject.
So, another interesting and thought provoking week on the PI list. Keep Warm.
